Community Involvement

Founded in 1938, we have a history of working to improve our community. Many of our clients have grown with Pile CPAs all of our 75 years. Collectively, we also provide volunteer service to over 60 non-profit organizations. Many of our associates serve on boards, committees or as volunteers to organizations throughout Central Indiana. Our commitment to the community includes providing ample time to service civic, arts, or professional organizations in our area.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will I have to travel?

You will have minimal travel with Pile CPAs. Our clients are Indiana-based businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Travel to client sites is primarily local (Indianapolis and surrounding communities). Overnight travel is normally only necessary for CPE, with the exception of travel to a few clients located in Northern or Southern Indiana. 

  •  What kind of training program do you have?

Following a formal week of orientation, Pile CPAs provides extensive in-house, on-the-job, and external training. Training includes 40 or more hours of CPE, additional professional development education focused on business, leadership and specialized skills and on-the-job mentoring and training.

  • What types of clients will I work on?

Pile CPA's clients are closely-held, Indiana-owned businesses. Most are manufacturers, construction companies, professional service firms, and not-for-profit organizations. They range in size from small business to clients with 100’s of millions in revenue.

  • What will my typical day be like?

One of the exciting and challenging things about a career in public accounting is the non-routine nature of the industry. You will have the opportunity to work with managers and directors one-on-one in a variety of client engagements. Employees generally complete work both in the office and at client sites. You will also participate in firm related activities through the year. 

During the busy season you can expect to work Saturdays and average 55 hours per week.

  • Do you offer internships?

Yes, the firm does provide internship opportunities based on the needs of the firm. We normally offer internships during the busy season (January-April).

  • Where are your offices located?

We currently have two offices. 

Just three blocks off the circle in downtown Indianapolis, our offices are located at One Indiana Square (Regions Bank Building) at the corner of Ohio and Pennsylvania Streets.  You will find a professional, fun and personalized work environment, with an attached parking garage and dozens of lunchtime options.

A few blocks south of downtown Noblesville, you will find our second office located at 499 South Ninth Street at the corner of Ninth and Mulberry Street.
