MAS 90 Accounting Solutions From RJ Pile, LLC

The Challenge: The Vice President and General Manager of a $30M manufacturing facility recognized the need to do a better job controlling and managing inventory. Inaccurate counts were costing sales, delaying shipments, and resulting in over-stock of some items. In addition, growth had created a need to implement a better overall accounting system.

The Situation: After 4 to 5 years of rapid expansion, the client had outgrown their Peachtree accounting system. They didn’t have a good handle on their inventory and therefore, did not know when they needed to manufacture new product. The client wanted to carry fewer inventories in stock and have on hand only items needed to fill sales orders in a timely manner. In addition, they were manually duplicating efforts to track inventory, purchase orders, sales orders, packing lists and invoices.

The Solution: RJ Pile’s technology specialists documented the client’s business requirements and current processes to guide the selection of a new accounting solution. Our team worked with the client to build an accurate inventory record using manual data plus information pulled out of Peachtree. This information was then migrated into a newly implemented MAS 90 Accounting System. The customized MAS 90 system includes general ledger, A/R, A/P, sales order, purchase order, bill of material, bank reconciliation, and inventory master modules.

The Results: The client now knows what they need to manufacture and can see what product lines are most profitable and where they need to reduce expenses or eliminate products. Reporting tools that measure productivity and cost-per-job information have been significantly improved. By integrating with their larger clients' ordering systems, they eliminated sales order entry and duplication of effort: The MAS 90 system carries the sales order information completely through the process to packing list and invoice completion. In addition to solving their inventory issues, the client was able to streamline their accounting functions, improve reporting, and gain the ability to use their business and accounting information to make improved business decisions.
